   On Sunday, March 24, Detroiters banished the Nain Rouge from the city for another year at the annual Marche du Nain Rouge. Legendary among the early #French settlers of Detroit, the Nain Rouge (French for "red dwarf") was purported to appear at various times throughout the city's history just prior to a catastrophic event, such as the great fire of 1805, the surrender of #Detroit to the British during the War of 1812. #folklore #legend #nouvellefrance #urbanlegend #history #nainrouge
